You explore solo, but never alone — one AI partner joins each quest, each filling a different role. Pick the one that covers your weakness.

How partners work
Companion skills charge as you deal damage, then you spend them with the skill modifier + a face button. Each partner specialises — one adds damage, one shields your HP bar, one (Argo) exposes an elite's weakness. Because you bring only one, the smart move is to cover your build's gap: a glass-cannon duelist wants Wyzeman to hold aggro; an all-in greatsword bruiser wants Iori's healing; when in doubt, Argo's universal utility is the safe pick.
